Aims & scope

The Lighthouse Journal of Management & Organisation publishes empirical research on how organisations actually behave, with a deliberate emphasis on emerging economies and on the firms that management research usually leaves out: the informal, the family-owned, the co-operative and the very small.

We publish quantitative and qualitative work and hold both to the standards of their own traditions. Quantitative submissions must report effect sizes and confidence intervals, not stars; we ask for data and code at submission and publish them alongside accepted papers unless there is a confidentiality reason not to. Qualitative submissions must show their sampling logic and make their analytic process traceable.

We do not publish conceptual papers that propose a framework without testing it, and we are explicit about this because it saves everyone a season.
