Aims & scope
The Lighthouse Journal of Public Health publishes research on population health in low- and middle-income settings, with a standing preference for implementation research — studies of whether an intervention that worked in a trial still works when a district health system has to deliver it on its own budget.
We publish epidemiological studies, health systems and policy research, health economics, and qualitative research on care-seeking and delivery. Reporting guidelines are enforced: STROBE for observational studies, CONSORT for trials, COREQ for qualitative work, and a completed checklist is required at submission. Trials must be prospectively registered.
APC waivers are automatic for corresponding authors based in low-income and lower-middle-income countries, and available on request otherwise. No paper is rejected for inability to pay.
