A synopsis, the first fifty pages and a page about you. We answer every one, and we say why.
Full manuscript
If the pages work, we read the rest. Roughly one query in forty reaches this step.
The offer of representation
A call, not a contract by email. You should interview us as hard as we read you.
To market
A submission list you approve, in rounds, with every response forwarded to you unedited.
We do not represent everything we like
An agent who takes on a book they cannot place is taking a year of your life to find that out. If we do not know the editors who buy what you have written, we will say so and name someone who does — that recommendation costs us nothing and is worth more to you than our signature.
